Operations Supervisor
Reports To
Operations Manager

Location
Head Office, 7/8 Thatcham Business Village, Thatcham, Berkshire, RG19 4LW, but will be expected to travel across the UK on occasion

Brief Description

Assisting the Operations Manager to manage the Interpreting, Translations and Quality Assurance divisions within the Operations department.

Experience in the language industry is not essential however, an interest would be an advantage.

Duties and Responsibilities

Language Administrator:
Book interpreters (via the phone/email/fax) by liaising with linguists and clients

Take responsibility of various client accounts by familiarising yourself with contract details eg rates, cancellation charges etc.

To provide occasional cover for the company switchboard

Quality Assurance:
Sourcing and recruiting quality linguists and translators.

Facilitate CRB registrations and Security Clearance applications.

Providing management with monthly statistical information.

Gathering and analysing client feedback for completed projects.

Organise meetings with linguists.

Issue Prestige ID cards.

Translations:
Assisting with translation projects in particular proof reading.

Operations Manager:
To substitute in the Operations Manager’s absence.

To support the Operations Manager with all aspects of running the operations department but with particular emphasis on man management and customer relations responsibilities.

Essential Skills

A background within a senior customer service role

A strong administrative background

A good command of the English language, both oral and written.

Excellent telephone manner with a focus on customer service.

First class organizational and co-ordination abilities.
Excellent attention to detail.

Time management essential to meet tight deadlines.

An inspiring and motivating leader with a hard working approach and a responsible attitude.

Must be computer literate with at least an intermediate knowledge of; Word, Excel and Outlook.

Desirable Skills

Ability to edit pdf files

Knowledge of DTP (desk top publication) programs, for example, Publisher.

Knowledge of any of the following, a distinct advantage:- Acrobat, Photoshop and Quark.

Familiarity with a contact management software e.g. ACT.

Hours of Work:
Monday - Thursday: 9.00 am - 5.30 pm
Friday - 9.00 am - 5.00 pm
1 hour lunch break
